Patagonia Untamed
Visit the extraordinary landscape of Torres del Paine — granite towers, glacial lakes, vast steppe and sweeping skies. Without doubt the finest place on Earth to photograph one of the planet's most elusive big cats: the Puma.
Chile · Patagonia · 8 days
Torres del Paine National Park, in the heart of Chilean Patagonia, is renowned not only for its dramatic, awe-inspiring landscapes but also as the best place to see and photograph one of the most elusive of all big cats: the Puma.
We have designed a considered and accessible approach that enables photographers to work more comfortably. With their deep local knowledge, our highly experienced South American colleagues and trackers locate the subjects first, allowing us to approach calmly and at a pace that suits both photographers and wildlife alike.
To make the most of our precious time in the park, we stay in Cerro Castillo for the full duration of the trip, rather than spending extra days in Punta Arenas as most tours do. This lets us incorporate a couple of days to focus on the magnificent landscape.
Beyond Pumas, the park offers a rich tapestry of wildlife. Guanacos roam the open plains, Andean Condors soar overhead, and the ever-changing Patagonian light transforms mountains, glaciers and turquoise lakes into extraordinary photographic subjects. Time is built into the itinerary to immerse ourselves in this vast, untamed landscape and capture its scale and mood.
