Badger Cub Workshop

This is an exclusive, day-workshop photographing a Badger cub like no other. In all my years of working with wildlife, it is rare to come across such a confiding animal.

Uniquely, you will be able to shoot with a long lens, as well as super wide-angles. We will be recording around him (we’re only guessing!) as he ventures out to forage during late afternoon.

We will be spending time observing and photographing him going about his daily life in lovely countryside. This sympathetic approach is not only enormously satisfying but the proximity makes this experience extra special.

Aligned with the high standards we strive to achieve, with regards to the wellbeing of all the subjects in this location, every session will be fully supervised. This means that you will have my technical expertise on hand to assist and guide you to getting the perfect shot each time you visit.

We are uncertain however, how long he will remain this confident, or indeed stay in this location as he’s not been habituated. Because of this, and to maximise on the longer daylight hours, we have had to act very quickly to offer everyone this truly unique opportunity to capture this very photogenic cub.

Over the last couple of weeks we have been conducting the Wild Buzzard Workshop and I’m happy to report that it has been a resounding success. We not only had 100% appearances, a second bird showed up on one occasion, giving the participants over 40 minutes of continued shooting!

The hide is available to hire for those that have attended the workshop (without instructions) on every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday from July, at £125 per session. For more info about this workshop, please visit the Wild Buzzard Workshop page.

As two of the Badger cub Workshops fall on a Wednesday and Saturday, those that wish to come for both of the workshop can combine the two as the Buzzard session finishes before 3pm, and the Badger session starts from 4.30pm. We will provide you with a complimentary ‘afternoon tea’ with sandwiches and cakes to keep you going!
